Deer Island, OR – March 23, 2022 – Russell Hubbard was sworn into office as a member of the Columbia River PUD’s Board of Directors on March 22. Hubbard was appointed to serve as the Director of Subdivision 4, representing customers in St. Helens.

Hubbard will replace Jake Carter, who resigned earlier this year.

Hubbard lives in St. Helens. He has owned and operated his own construction company for 40-plus years.

He currently serves as Vice Chair of the St. Helens Planning Commission. He is also a director of the Northwest Industrial Business Association, representing businesses in the Northwest Portland industrial area.

“I appreciate the support that CRPUD gives to the people and small businesses of Columbia County, and I would like to be involved in continuing that work as we experience the growth that is coming our way,” he said.

Hubbard was one of three candidates interviewed by the Board of Directors at their March meeting.

“All three of you guys are very qualified. It is tough,” Board President Craig Melton said at the meeting. “We really thank you. The applications are awesome.”

Hubbard’s position will be up for election in November.
