PUD Pays 2016-2017 Property Tax Bill

November 29, 2016 – Columbia River People’s Utility District (PUD) paid $486,053 in property taxes to Columbia and Multnomah counties for the 2016-2017 tax year, based on a total assessed property value of $37.8 million.

Property taxes paid to Columbia and Multnomah counties help to fund schools, fire districts, emergency response, and other city and county services. The PUD’s 2016-2017 property tax bill will be divided as follows:

  • Schools: $240,656
  • Fire Districts: $96,630
  • County: $57,260
  • Cities: $24,896
  • 911 C-Com: $19,131
  • Other Taxing Districts: $47,480

Of the total, $479,522 was paid to Columbia County and $6,531 was paid to Multnomah County. While the majority of the PUD’s service area is in Columbia County, the PUD also serves about 350 customers in northern Multnomah County, south of Scappoose.

The PUD is among the largest property tax payers in Columbia County.
