Electric Service Damage: What We Repair, What You Repair

Delivering electricity to your home or business is a partnership between you and the PUD. There are certain items that you, the customer, are responsible for maintaining. Similarly, there are certain items that we, the PUD, are responsible for maintaining.

Overhead Service

Overhead ServiceFor overhead service, we are responsible for maintaining and repairing the service wires that connect to your building to the electricity distribution system. We also maintain and repair the connectors that link our service wires to your service entrance cables.

You are responsible for maintaining and repairing the service entrance cables, the weather head, the service mast, the wires inside these devices, and the wires inside the building.

Underground Service

Underground ServiceFor underground service, we are responsible for maintaining and repairing the transformer, the conduit and cable running from the transformer to the meter, and the meter.

You are responsible for the meter base, and the wires inside the building.

If Your Service is Damaged

If your service entrance is damaged, it must be repaired and inspected by the Columbia County Electrical Inspector before we can restore your power.
