PUD Pays 2014 Property Tax Bill

November 26, 2014 – Columbia River People’s Utility District (PUD) paid $452,824 in property taxes to Columbia and Multnomah counties for 2014. The total payment amount increased 7.4% over 2013 levels and was based on a total assessed property value of $35.2 million.

Property taxes paid to Columbia and Multnomah Counties help to fund schools, fire districts, emergency response and other city and county services. The PUD’s 2014 property tax bill will be divided as follows:

  • Schools: $222,680
  • Fire Districts: $89,755
  • County: $53,695
  • Cities: $24,112
  • 911 C-Com: $17,475
  • Other Taxing Districts: $45,107

Of the total, $446,630 was paid to Columbia County and $6,194 was paid to Multnomah County. While the majority of the PUD’s service area is in Columbia County, the PUD also serves about 350 customers in northern Multnomah County, south of Scappoose.

The PUD is among the largest property tax payers in Columbia County.
