PUD Employees Raise $15,464 for United Way of Columbia County

November 25, 2014 – Columbia River PUD employees have raised $15,464 for United Way of Columbia County, donating an average of $334 each to the local non-profit organization.

Brooke Sisco, Ashley Wood, Sherry Welter and Libby Calnon coordinated the PUD campaign, which featured a chili cook-off, the sale of casual day stickers, and an office olympics competition among employees.

United Way of Columbia County Executive Director Kathye Beck said this year’s campaign goal is $310,000, and she hopes fundraising will go well through the holidays.

“The holiday season is a great time to shop local,” said Beck. “If there’s someone on your shopping list who has everything, give the gift of caring, love, and sharing. Make a donation to United Way of Columbia County in their name.”

All of the money raised through the local campaign stays in Columbia County supporting local programs that provide a variety of services for children, seniors, people with disabilities and special needs, and emergency and basic needs.
