Public Notice – Board Vacancy

At the September 15, 2020 Board meeting, the Board of Directors of Columbia River People’s Utility District (CRPUD) declared a vacancy for the position of Director of Subdivision Five beginning immediately.

The Board of Directors is inviting eligible candidates to submit letters of interest and/or resumes to fill the vacancy on CRPUD’s Board. This is normally an elected office; the term of this appointment will run through December 31, 2022. The position will be up for election at the November 2022 general election to serve a four-year term beginning January 2023.

ORS 261.405(3) provides that candidates must be an elector; must reside within the subdivision which they are running for; and must have resided in the district continuously for two years immediately preceding the date of election/appointment.

Those meeting the above requirements, and who desire to serve the public as CRPUD Director for Subdivision Five, representing Rainier, Prescott, portions of Deer Island, and Columbia City, are invited to submit letters of interest and/or resumes to fill the vacancy. The letters of interest and/or resumes should include current contact information and physical address of residence. It is anticipated the candidate selected could be appointed by CRPUD’s Board of Directors at the Special Board Meeting on October 13, 2020.

Letters of interest and/or resumes should be addressed to the Board and must be submitted electronically no later than 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Anyone requesting more information may email Board Secretary Heidi Ralls.

Columbia River PUD currently provides electric service to 19,590 customers in Columbia and Multnomah Counties. The PUD currently employees 44 people and had a total operating and non-operating income of $35.2 million in 2019.
