Donations for Warming Tree Now Being Accepted

We collected more than 800 items with our Warming Tree in 2019.

This holiday season, we will once again be collecting warm hats, gloves, scarves, and blankets to donate to members of our community.

“It has been such a great success the last two years. This year it’s more important than ever to help out our community so we are hopeful it can be our best year yet,” said Customer Accounts and Billing Manager Kristen Dean.

Last year, we collected more than 800 warming items to distribute to SAFE of Columbia County.

We are currently accepting donations for this year’s Warming Tree. PUD employees, Board Members, and customers are invited to donate items.

“We are excited for the chance to play a small part in helping our neighbors in the community stay warm and cozy this winter. Anyone who wants to help out is invited to drop off items,” Dean said. Items will be collected in tubs in the entry way to our office in Deer Island during regular business hours.

All items collected will be distributed to families in Columbia County through the St. Helens Elks Lodge and the Holiday Hope program.

We ask that donations be turned in by December 9 so we are able to deliver them in time for Christmas. Donations may be new, handmade, or gently used items.
