Donations for Warming Tree Being Accepted Now

We collected more than 800 items with our Warming Tree in 2019.

This holiday season, we will once again be collecting warm hats, gloves, coats, and scarves to donate to members of our community.

“It has been a tremendous success the last three years. The need in our community is so great again this year,” said Customer Accounts and Billing Manager Kristen Dean. “We are hoping to set a new record this year.”

We are currently accepting donations for this year’s Warming Tree. PUD employees, Board Members, and customers are invited to donate items. All items collected will be donated to Community Action Team to distribute among the community.

Last year, we collected more than 800 warming items to distribute to the St. Helens Elks Lodge and the Holiday for Hope program.

“We are excited for the chance to play a small part in helping our neighbors in the community stay warm and cozy this winter. Anyone who wants to help out is invited to drop off items,” Dean said.

Items will be collected at our office in Deer Island during regular business hours.

We ask that donations be turned in by December 9 so they are able to be delivered in time for Christmas. Items may be new, handmade, or gently used.
