Donate Blood at Columbia River PUD October 6

Columbia River PUD and the American Red Cross are holding a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. in the PUD Community Room.

September 26, 2017 – Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. By volunteering to donate blood, you will know you may have helped save a life.

You’re invited to help save lives on October 6. Columbia River PUD and the American Red Cross are holding a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. in the PUD Community Room.

Blood is a perishable lifesaving product. It can only come from volunteer donors like you. Many people assume others will donate and that blood will always be there when needed.

Unfortunately, less than 38% of the American population is eligible to donate blood. Only a fraction of those people actually do.

Blood products are used for patients with cancer and other diseases, premature babies, organ transplant recipients, and accident and trauma victims. Volunteer blood donors are the only source of blood for transfusions. The blood must be there before it is needed to help save lives.
