Cost of New Electric Service
If you require installation of new electric service, contact our Engineering Department at (503) 397-0760 or firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain an estimate. The cost of new electric service varies depending on several factors.
More complex jobs will receive a custom estimate. For jobs that receive custom estimates, if the actual cost exceeds the estimate, you will not be charged for the difference. If the job costs less, you will receive a rebate.
Some jobs can be completed under our flat fee rate structure. The criteria below will help us determine whether you qualify for this pricing:
- New Service
- Service to Homes, Garages and Other Structures for Residential Use
- Single Phase
- Less than or Equal to 320 Amp Service
- Less than or Equal to 25 KVA Load
- No Installation of Poles, Cabinets, and/or Vaults
If the PUD determines you qualify for our flat fee rate structure, an estimate will be made based on the following pricing:
|Current Flat Fee Rate Structure (effective March 1, 2017)||Cost|
|Overhead & Underground Service Base Rate||$400|
|Underground Primary Extension Base Rate||$1,900|
|Primary/Service Wire||$2.50 per foot|
|Adding a Transformer (labor)||$450*|
|Removing a Transformer (labor)||$250**|
|Riser Fee (Primary or Service)||$325|
|Transformer Pricing||Contact Engineering|
*The cost of the transformer is not included. Please contact Engineering for pricing.
**You will receive a credit for the transformer that is removed. Amounts vary.
This table is a guide only. A variety of factors may result in a new service requiring a custom estimate. If you are planning to add electric service, please contact our Engineering Department at (503) 397-0760 or email@example.com for a detailed estimate.
If you proceed with a project estimated by the PUD, you must pay the estimate amount in full prior to beginning the project.
For jobs receiving custom estimates: If the actual cost exceeds the estimate, you will not be charged for the difference. If the job costs less, you will receive a rebate.
