Do you have a refrigerator in your home? A dishwasher? If you're like most Americans, your home is probably filled with appliances that are either hard wired or are not normally plugged into a surge suppressor. These appliances could be damaged or destroyed by a voltage surge or spike. That's why you need Home Guard surge protection.
What is Home Guard?
A Home Guard whole-house surge suppressor protects your home's appliances from voltage surges and spikes that originate on our distribution system. Lighting, trees, animals, and cars hitting utility poles can all short circuit distribution lines, causing surges and spikes.
Home Guard is not the only surge suppressor you need for sensitive electronic equipment, such as computers, stereos, televisions, VCR's and more. These items need protection from the voltage fluctuations that originate from inside your home as well, and should be protected with quality plug-in surge suppressors.
How much does it cost?
We offer Home Guard service to PUD electric customers. It costs only $3.95 per month, but covers up to $5,000 in damage per major household appliance. We will install Home Guard at no charge and add the monthly amount to your PUD electric bill. Call (503) 366-5470 for details, or fill out the form below to sign up.
