Columbia River PUD’s furnace duct sealing program provides consultation, quality assurance and financial assistance to PUD customers. The program aims to maximize the efficient use of electricty and can improve indoor air quality.

Eligible customers

To qualify for the duct sealing program, Columbia River PUD must be your electric service provider and you must heat your home with a forced air electric furnace or heat pump system. Your home may be a site-built dwelling or a manufactured home. A Performance Tested Comfort Systems (PTCS) Certified Residential Air Distribution Systems Technician must complete the work.

About performance testing

Performance testing is a procedure that ensures the integrity of your duct system. Your duct system will be tested, sealed and retested to ensure that a qualifying level of leakage reduction is achieved. This process will help lower your heating and cooling costs while improving your home’s comfort and safety.

Incentives

Quality Assurance - PTCS Certified Technicians will use diagnostic testing methods to ensure quality results. PTCS technicians have been trained to identify duct system problems and ways to fix them.

Rebates - We offer a $300 rebate to customers who have their duct systems sealed and certified by a PTCS Certified Technician. Oregon tax credits may also be available; visit www.oregon.gov/energy or call (800) 221-8035 for details.
