Book Sale this month benefits GLOW
The PUD’s annual book sale is being held this month. The sale is a fund raiser for the Neighbor’s GLOW Fund, which provides emergency bill-paying assistance to low-income PUD customers.
Books will be available for purchase at the PUD office. Cost is $2 for hardbound, $1 for soft cover, and 50¢ for children’s or small paperbacks.
The GLOW fund provides up to $100 per year in emergency assistance to low-income PUD customers who have become delinquent in paying their power bills and are scheduled to have their power disconnected. The fund is maintained through voluntary contributions from PUD customers and employee fund raisers.
Call before you dig
If you plan to dig anywhere on public or private property, Oregon law requires you to call the Utility Notification Center at (800) 332-2344 at least two business days in advance. If you don’t call and you damage any utility facilities, you will be liable for repair costs. For more information visit www.callbeforeyoudig.org.
Buy wind power
Did you know you can buy wind power from us, for as little as $2 a month?
Through the PUD’s Choice Energy program, you can sign up for 100 kilowatt-hour “blocks” of wind power for $2 each per month, or buy all your electricity through the program 1.5¢ per kilowatt-hour per month.
The electricity purchased through the Choice Energy program comes from three wind farms in Eastern Oregon. When you sign up for Choice Energy, you encourage development of additional wind power farms and other renewable energy resources.
To sign up, call Customer Accounts at (503) 397-0590, email custsvc@crpud.org, or fill out this form.

Features of ENERGY STAR Qualified Homes
- Even temperatures from room to room. Well-sealed duct systems reduce air leaks and help maintain even room temperatures.
- Performance tested. Before receiving the ENERGY STAR label, the home’s high-efficiency heating and cooling systems are inspected
- to verify proper installation for best performance.
- Warm water for less. High-efficiency water heaters have extra insulation to keep water in the tank hotter, longer.
- Clean savings. ENERGY STAR qualified dishwashers save 1,000 gallons of water a year.
- Bright ideas for every room. At least half of the lighting is ENERGY STAR qualified, using up to 75% less energy.
- A welcome view. ENERGY STAR qualified windows reduce heat flow for greater comfort and lower energy costs. Some brands
- even provide fade protection from the sun for furniture, carpet and drapes.
- Warmth and quiet. Increased insulation, properly installed, creates a living environment that’s quiet and comfortable.
- Peace of mind. That’s what you get when you purchase a home that has earned the ENERGY STAR. Peace of mind in knowing that you own a home that has been performance tested and inspected to confirm that the strict requirements of ENERGY STAR have been met.
