Thermostat Replacement Rebates

You can earn a rebate when you replace all the line-voltage mechanical thermostats in your home with qualified energy-efficient electronic thermostats.

  •  Energy-efficient electronic thermostats offer improved comfort, greater convenience and reduced electric use. You can earn a $20 per thermostat rebate when you replace all the line-voltage mechanical thermostats in your home with qualified energy-efficient electronic thermostats. (Bathroom thermostats are optional.)

     Rebates and Financing

    The rebate amount is $20 per thermostat and will be applied to your PUD account.

    If you have a a satisfactory payment history and you choose to have an electrician install your new thermostats, you may also finance your project with a 0% interest, 12 month loan through your PUD account. The maximum loan amount is $1,000.

     Install new thermostats yourself

    1. Purchase qualified electronic thermostats from the retailer of your choice.
    2. Install the new thermostats in your home, replacing all line-voltage mechanical thermostats. Keep your old thermostats until the PUD inspection is complete.
    3. Contact the PUD for an inspection. Upon satisfactory inspection, give this rebate application to our Energy Experts along with the original receipts.
    4. We will apply your rebate to your PUD account.

     Hire an electrician to install them

    1. Contact electricians to request quotes for the work to be done. Send the PUD a copy of the proposal from the electrician you choose.
    2. Our Energy Experts will review the proposal and notify you when it is approved. Hire the electrician to do the work.
    3. Upon completion, contact us to request an inspection. Give the inspector a copy of the contractor’s final bill and this rebate application.
    4. We will apply your rebate to your PUD account. If you are financing your project through the PUD, we will mail you a check for the amount shown on the contractor’s bill (up to $1,000), minus the rebate amount.
