High Bill Concerns
A sudden increase in your electric bill may indicate a repair problem with an appliance, heating system or water heater. Although it seems strange, vacant buildings can require more energy to heat than occupied ones.
Meter testing
Although most of the PUD's meters are read using automated equipment, a high bill may also indicate an inaccurate meter reading. You may request a meter test for a $25 fee. If the test confirms a problem with the meter, your meter test fee will be refunded.
