New appliance rebates

Information about the financial incentives available from the PUD for the purchase of new, energy-efficient clothes washers, dishwashers and refrigerators.

Columbia River PUD is now offering rebates on the purchase of ENERGY STAR® labeled clothes washers, dishwashers and refrigerators. The program is offered to all PUD customers for appliances installed in new or existing homes or businesses within the PUD's service area.

How the program works:

  1. Purchase an ENERGY STAR qualified appliance from the dealer of your choice.
  2. Complete a rebate application and submit it, along with a copy of your sales receipt and the yellow Energy Guide tag that was attached to the appliance.  On qualifying appliances, the Energy Guide should have the ENERGY STAR logo on it.   3. We will process your application within three weeks. If the application is approved, we will credit your account or issue you a check. If the application is not approved, we will mail you a letter explaining why.

Rebate amounts:

  • Clothes Washers - Electric hot water - $75
  • Clothes Washers - Gas, oil or propane hot water - $25
  • Dishwashers - $25
  • Refrigerators - $25
  • Freezers - $25

Tax credits also available

The Oregon Residential Energy Tax Credit Program provides tax credits ranging from $60 to $180 for the purchase of premium efficiency appliances.

To qualify for a tax credit, you must either have Oregon income tax liability or be willing to transfer the credit to an Oregon resident who does.

In some cases, the efficiency standard required for a tax credit may be greater than ENERGY STAR standards. Therefore, not every ENERGY STAR appliance that qualifies for a PUD rebate will qualify for a tax credit.
