PUD Welcomes New Employees

Columbia River People's Utility District (PUD) has welcomed two new employees: Energy Specialist Cathy Cartmill and Key Account Executive Seth Hooper.
As an Energy Specialist, Cathy Cartmill will develop and implement energy efficiency programs for the PUD's residential and commercial customers.
Cartmill worked the last 26 years as an Energy Analyst & Inspector for the City of Ashland's Conservation Division where she oversaw their very successful residential energy programs. Prior to that, she worked as an Environmental Specialist for both Clackamas County and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
Cartmill holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina. She has served on the boards of the Rogue Valley Branch of the Cascade Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Rogue River Valley Chapter of the Refrigeration Services Engineers Society. She and her husband Bob have one daughter, five sons and two grandchildren.
Cartmill replaces Wade Carey who accepted a position with Bonneville Power Administration's Energy Efficiency department.
As a Key Account Executive, Seth Hooper will be responsible for developing and implementing the PUD's Key Account Program. He will work with the PUD's largest customers to help them use electricity efficiently and leverage available technology, programs and financing to assist with their continued success and profitability.
Hooper spent the past 12 years with Weyerhaeuser Company, most recently serving as the Southwest Region Energy Manager in Federal Way, WA. His duties included identifying electrical efficiency and demand response opportunities, resolving power quality issues, negotiating power sales agreements and managing the procurement of natural gas.
Hooper holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Washington State University. He is a Certified Energy Procurement Professional.
Hooper and his wife Emily have one daughter and one son. They are in the process of relocating to Columbia County.
Hooper replaces Thad Roth who accepted a position as a Renewable Energy Program Manager with the Energy Trust of Oregon.

Columbia River People's Utility District provides electric service to 18,500 customers in Columbia and Multnomah Counties in Oregon.
The PUD employs 48 people and had FY2007 gross revenues of $28.4 million.
