PUD gets Pavilion ready for the fair

July 2, 2007

Employees of Columbia River PUD will be spending about 150 hours over the next few weeks getting the Pavilion building at the Columbia County Event Complex ready for the 2007 Columbia County fair. Each year PUD employees provide the Event Complex staff extra help in making sure the Pavilion building is ready for the annual event.

The PUD adopted the Pavilion building in 1997. Since that time the PUD has installed a new commercial kitchen and contributed to a major lighting upgrade in addition to staging the Pavilion Cleanup event before the fair each year. Cleanup projects include cleaning the building inside and out, moving display cases into position, planting flowers, pressure washing the sidewalks and completing minor repairs.

"With our limited resources having the PUD's help getting ready for the Fair is invaluable," said Fair Administrator Ronda Courtney.

"The Columbia County Fair is important to our customers and our community. We're proud to support the Fair with a little extra manpower to help make this a successful event," said PUD General Manager Kevin Owens.
